Garry James Pierce
08.02.1952 – 15.09.2025. In memory of the irreverent and iridescent Garry James Pierce of Newstead. Passed at Bendigo Hospice on 15 September, 2025. Loving husband to Karen. Dad to daughters (“the ferals”) Nelle and Rose and their partners Dit and Dan. Poppy to (“the ratbags”) grandkids Moby, Millie, Lily and Oliver. Brother to Linda and Julie. And friend to oh so many more.
Garry leaves behind a vast network of friends and family who love him dearly. He had an infectious enthusiasm for life, a staggering intellect that he applied generously in helping others and a hearty, devilish laugh that simply made you feel good.
Join us on Wednesday, 24 September 2025 to celebrate and remember together.
11.30am – Short graveside service at the Newstead Cemetery.
12.30pm – Gathering at Dig Café for Family and Friends.

Lots of memories of the journeys from early days in East Brunswick to Castlemaine and Newstead – Gary was always ready with a joke and a helping hand when the vacuum wouldn’t work. I reckon he must’ve earnt a bucket load of brownie points by keeping all those appliances out of the land fill!
