  1. Uncle Jurs/John,

Mate, you were and always will be one seriously special person in my life.

Your generosity and willingness to take me into your home in Richmond will always be remembered and cherished.

John, subtlety was not your strong point, but the life lessons you gave me were invaluable and will never be forgotten.

Much love to Darren and Colleen through this difficult time.

    James and Fran

  2. Sending much love to Darren and Colleen at this time.

    My memories of uncle Jurs.

John was a larrikin with a conscience, subtly was not his strong point and you were never at a loss to know what he was thinking, usually because he told you!

One of the reasons I really loved him.

John, Hazel, Darren and Colleen took Jason, Matthew and myself under their wing in Melbourne and this was an experience I have never forgotten.

John truly was the embodiment of what his mother would say, “no one is a stranger”, the door was always open, a cup tea on hand and a cold beer if there was the need for a heart to heart, which, putting up with us ratbags, I believe well deserved on John’s behalf.

Laughter was important to John and even though John had no issue speaking his mind, it was always coming a place of care, never malice.

So many memories, so little time.

John, mate, make sure you have your union ticket on you when get to the pearly gates, because, mate, you might need all the help you can get!! (Either that or offer St Peters a VB or Melbourne Bitter and laugh your way in)

    Love you mate,

    James (Nephew)
