15.06.1945 – 28.02.2023, aged 77 years.

Our beloved Father, Howard Ronald Penberthy, passed away on Tuesday 28th February, surrounded by those who cherished him. Adored Father of Deanne Jolly and Belinda O’Neill, Grandad to Scarlett and Lily Jolly; Ethan, Jasper, Finn and Amelie O’Neill, loved Father-in-law to Jarrod O’Neill and Friend of former Wife, Glenda. The youngest Son of Victor James and Perlrose Alvinia Penberthy (both dec), Brother of Ivan Victor (dec) and Jefferson, Sister-in-law Mitsuko, Uncle to Mark (Liam and Ellen), Natsumi, Jun and Haneu.

Howard was a natural sportsman in his younger days, but also a creative soul and fine craftsman. He loved the goldfields, poetry, theater prose, history, music, the AFL, vintage cars – and his family to the utmost. He was a true gentlemen and kind soul and will be dearly missed.

The Funeral Service and tributes for Howard will be held at the Thompson Memorial Chapel, 123 Mostyn Street, Castlemaine on Thursday, 9th March 2023 commencing at 1pm followed by a wake at the Trades Hall (next door). All who knew Howard are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. A Private Cremation will follow.
