Dear Bees, sorry to hear of Bob’s passing, we have beautiful memories of him to cherish. Couldn’t make it on the day but we did watch the Funeral Live Stream, lovely service. Our thoughts are with you.
Marg and Wayne Wohlhagen.
I would just like to send my sincere condolences to Bob’s family. I met Bob on my Tuesday afternoon visits to Ellery as a volunteer with my two dogs. Bob was truly a lovely man and we will miss him as will all who knew him.🌹
Bob and I were together in many ways, for almost our entire lifetimes. We attended school together at SS119 Castlemaine through the 1940s. Then as young blokes, we spent much time together with all the other local motorbike boys around Vin Whaley’s shop(s) in Barker Street, touring on our bikes and attending local mud scramble events. Bob married my cousin Lois Walters and though we lived long distances apart, we’ve been close family ever since. The past few years have been difficult for both Lois and Bob, living in separate situations, but thanks to face-to-face phone calls and occasional visits to Victoria and Ellery House, we were able to share what is now, forever memorable time together. Kay and I send our condolences to Lois, all the family and to his many friends still around the “Maine”. Love you mate – and now Rest In Peace, GB. (Graham Butterworth, Darwin).
