McLEAN, Maxwell (Max)
25.01.1929 – 24.07.2022, aged 93 years.
Beloved Husband of Nola. Father and Father-in-law of Roger & Annie, Gary & Jenny, Kathleen & Kevy, Brett, Mark (dec), Maxine & Ross. Grandfather to 14. Great Grandfather to 12.
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
The Funeral Service to honour Max’s life will be held at the Community Centre, 60 Elizabeth Street, Campbells Creek on Monday, 1st August 2022 commencing at 1.30pm. At the conclusion of the Service, Max will be laid to rest at the Chewton Cemetery.

Castlemaine is at a loss with your parting. Who will wave to us all now. Whether you walked or sat out the front of your house, you waved at us all regardless if you actually knew us personally.
A true gentleman who lived a full life. May you rest peacefully.

It was Always a pleasure to listen to Max and his wonderful stories or historic recollections of Castlemaine and the district. His walking and endless waving to one and all, made everyone feel welcomed (new or old) and immediately at ease …He was a man with a sense of humour blended with true bite sized bits of wisdom. He always made me smile (even when he was unwell)… and as usual greeted me (and others) with a firm handshake …always wanting to know what I had been up to. Yep he was a true gentleman, working man and a dad to many …I’m glad I met him ,RIP Max.
