A service to honour Des will be held at the Thompson Memorial Parlor, 123 Mostyn Street, Castlemaine on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 commencing at 12 noon.
Such sad news, to hear of Dad’s passing. Sending loving thoughts to Family and Friends.

Des was a great mate I knew for 62 years! His caustic comments on things political and in the media, in particular, always made my day’s interesting, to say the least!

Became a friend of Des in 1962 when he was working at 2AY in Albury. I was a young POME immigrant and he took me under his wing and introduced me to some amazing people. Later on he became my Son’s Godfather and did a good job as my Son’s a devout atheist. We’ve kept in touch over the years. He will be sorely missed.
