A service to honour Des will be held at the Thompson Memorial Parlor, 123 Mostyn Street, Castlemaine on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 commencing at 12 noon.

  2. Des was a great mate I knew for 62 years! His caustic comments on things political and in the media, in particular, always made my day’s interesting, to say the least!

  6. Became a friend of Des in 1962 when he was working at 2AY in Albury. I was a young POME immigrant and he took me under his wing and introduced me to some amazing people. Later on he became my Son’s Godfather and did a good job as my Son’s a devout atheist. We’ve kept in touch over the years. He will be sorely missed.
